Upscaling the Campaign to Promote Knowledge of the Maputo Protocol for the Protection of Women’s Rights in Ghana Liberia and Nigeria

Women’s Rights Advancement & Protection Alternative WRAPA as part of the SOAWR members in the anglophone West Africa Cluster, joined BOABAB for Women’s Human Rights, Alliances for Africa, Initiative for Gender Equality and Development (IGED-Africa), Young Liberian Women Organisation for Improvement (WOFIM), to improve the knowledge on and contribute to increasing the pool of advocates pushing for the domestication of the Maputo Protocol for the actualisation of the rights of women in anglophone West Africa. The cluster under the leadership of BAOBAB Rights, with funding from Solidarity for African Women Rights SOAWR designed & kick started a 3 months campaign to promote knowledge of the article 4 & 14 that speaks to Sexual Gender Based Violence SGBV & Sexual Reproductive Health Rights SRHR of the Maputo Protocol for the protection of women & girls rights.

WRAPA as part of the cluster launched a campaign on 25th November, 2022 during the #16DaysofActivism with a press release speaking against all forms of SGBV & promoting SRHR which was promoted on various social media platforms and our website. Click to access press release
