Are WRAPA services free?

WRAPA services are provided free of charge or at a subsidised rate, depending on the nature of the case, eligibility criteria, and available funding or partnership arrangements.

Does WRAPA handle criminal cases?

WRAPA does not prosecute criminal cases. However, we provide legal guidance, counselling support, and referrals to appropriate law enforcement agencies, legal aid institutions, and other relevant service providers where necessary.

Can WRAPA assist in divorce-related matters?

WRAPA may provide legal aid and/or counselling support to women who are parties to divorce proceedings, depending on the circumstances of the case, eligibility criteria, and available resources

Is legal representation guaranteed once I submit a request?

No. Legal assistance is not automatic. Each case is assessed to determine the appropriate form of support, which may include legal advice, counselling, referral, or representation, depending on need and available capacity.

Is counselling confidential?

Yes. All counselling sessions are treated as strictly confidential, except where disclosure is required to prevent harm or comply with safeguarding obligations.

What information do I need to provide?

You will be asked to provide:
A brief description of your situation, your contact details and location, information about the parties involved (where safe and appropriate) or any supporting documents, if available

What should I do if I am in immediate danger?

If you are in immediate danger, please contact emergency services or local authorities immediately. WRAPA can provide follow-up legal aid and counselling support once immediate safety concerns have been addressed.

Does WRAPA accept all cases submitted?

Not all cases can be taken up directly. Some matters may be referred to partner organisations, legal aid institutions, or specialised service providers after assessment.

WRAPA does not institute divorce proceedings on behalf of clients.
