Hon. Justice Fati Lami Abubakar
BOARD CHAIRMAN
Her Excellency was born in Minna, Niger state on April 12, 1951. She attended our lady’s High school, St Anne’s Queen’s Elizabeth Secondary School, Ilorin, Federal Government College Sokoto and the University of Ife now Obafemi Awolowo University. She holds a Bachelor of Law (LLB) degree, Masters in Law (LLM) and a PhD in Law (LLD). She was a onetime acting Solicitor General And Permanent Secretary Ministry of Justice in Niger state. Her last public office was when she served as the first lady of the federal republic of Nigeria during which she founded the women’s rights advancement and protection alternative (WRAPA). In the second quarter of 2013 she was appointed the Niger State Chief Judge.
Dr. Amina Lami Abubakar Bello MBBS, FWACS

Dr. Amina Lami Abubakar Bello, born on May 17 in Niger State, is a notable medical professional with an MBBS from Ahmadu Bello University (2000) and a Master’s in Public Health from the University of Liverpool (2011). She is a Fellow of the West African College of Surgeons (2012) and is the Founder and CEO of RAiSE Foundation, focusing on reproductive health, women’s empowerment, and girl-child education. Currently, she serves as a Lecturer I at Kaduna State University and a Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Barau Dikko Specialist Hospital, contributing to women’s health research and on the WHO’s Technical Advisory Committee for Cervical Cancer Elimination.
Mall. Ibrahim Aliyu

Mall. Ibrahim was born on 20th august 1948. He attended Harvard University, United States Of America, Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, Bradford University, United Kingdom, University Of Ibadan and Government College Kaduna. He has a B.Sc. and MPA in Economics and Development Economics. He is the chairman of Urban Shelter, Abuja and has over the years brought his experience to bear on the sustainability of WRAPA and its funding capacity.
Prof. Gambo Laraba Abdullahi (OON)
BOARD MEMBER
Prof. Gambo Laraba was born on March 21, 1951. She attended Queen Elizabeth School Ilorin, Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, and Loughborough University Of Technology United Kingdom. She has a Ph. D in analytical chemistry and a onetime vice chancellor of the University of Abuja, Nigeria. Prof. Gambo has many publications, journals, articles and conference papers to her credit. She has served as a civil commissioner in Bauchi state. Prof. Gambo has also served as Nigeria’s Hon. Minister of Women Affairs during the transition government that handed power to the elected government of 1999.
Abdulmalik Mahdi,CIFP (INCEF), MBA (IESE)

Abdulmalik is the founder and Managing Director of Modern Shelter Systems & Services Limited, a real estate development company in Abuja, Nigeria, established in 2015. With 18 years of experience in banking, marketing, and financial management, he has worked with First Bank of Nigeria, Guaranty Trust Bank, and Jaiz Bank. He holds an MBA from IESE Business School, a Master’s in Islamic Finance from INCEIF, and a B.Sc in Political Science from Bayero University Kano. Abdulmalik is an alumnus of Kings College, Lagos. He is a founding contributor to the establishment and growth of WRAPA, most recently with grant funds supporting the shelter needs of widows.
Hajiya Amina Mohammed OON

Hajiya Amina attended Sidcot School, Winscombe, Somerset, England, and Taunton Technical College England. A.B.U Zaria, University of Wales UK, University of Manchester, UK and Bayero University, Kano. She holds a B.A Hons. She is a women’s rights activist and is a member of other non-profit organizations working to advance the rights and human dignity of women. Amina currently serves as a Director, in a regional non-profit organization, Ahmadu Bello Foundation.
Dr. Sani Sufi

Dr. Sani Sufi is an accomplished academician and retired civil servant with expertise in policy analysis and governance. He has served in various private and public sector organizations and is involved in philanthropy at the community level, as well as contributing to several Nigerian universities as an external scholar. He retired as a Director from the Federal Civil Service and is currently the CEO of Ventura Consult Nigeria Ltd, focusing on management development, research, education, and e-learning services.
Dr. Ifenne Enyantu

Dr. Ifenne Enyantu is a 1977 MBBS graduate of Ahmadu Bello University, Nigeria, and a 2004 graduate of Harvard University. A Pediatrician and gender activist, she was the Country Director for CEDPA from 1996-2002, establishing 800 women’s rights advocacy networks and aiding legislation against Female Genital Cutting in Nigeria. She also served as also served as the first CEO of Nigeria’s National Commission for Women, which later became Federal Ministry of Women Affairs and has expertise in Public Policy Analysis and Program Design. Additionally, Dr. Enyantu chaired the Board of the National Health Insurance Scheme.
Mrs. Fatima Kwaku MFR

Mrs. Fatima Kwaku, born on October 22, 1949, in Maiduguri, is a prominent legal practitioner and women’s rights advocate. She obtained her LLB from Ahmadu Bello University and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1976. In 1977, she founded Ya Fatima Chambers, served as Chairperson of the Local Government Election Petition Tribunal. A life member of FIDA, she was the first female Chairperson of the NBA Kano Branch and is currently a Trustee of the NBA and FIDA Nigeria. She is recognized as a Member of the Order of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (MFR).
Saudatu Mahdi MFR

Saudatu is the Secretary General of WRAPA responsible for the general administration of the organization at the national level. She is responsibile for programme design and sourcing funding for programme work. She is accountable to the Board of Trustees for programme initiatives aimed at realizing the vision of WRAPA and its mission of actualizing the legal and social rights of women. She supervises implementation of WRAPA activities by State Chapters. WRAPA under Saudatu has contributed to the increase in awareness and respect for women’s human dignity leading to incremental positive shifts in two critical institutions of religion and tradition. Saudatu is a member of the National Human Rights Commission of Nigeria and is responsible for the coordination of the activities of two major gender platforms working on violence against women and women’s inclusion in governance and politics.
AIG (Rtd), Hilda Ibifuro Harrison fdc

A.I.G Hilda, born on March 1 in Degema, Rivers State, is a retired Assistant Inspector of Police and a dedicated security professional. She earned a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) in 2002 from Rivers State University and a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from the University of Benin. Throughout her career, she has received various accolades, including the Inspector General’s Award and the National Defence College Award, for her exemplary service in the Nigeria Police Force. Hilda is committed to fostering community relationships and proactively addressing security challenges.
Micheal Thompson Showunmi
BOARD MEMBER
Micheal Thompson Showunmi is the Executive Director of Raising Star Africa Foundation and an advocate for education and inclusion in Africa. He holds degrees in Chemical Engineering, Mathematics Education, and Education Administration. He renovated three inclusive schools in Lagos for over 500 children with disabilities, raised over $17,000 for educational support, and organized Nigeria’s largest disability awareness event, “THIS-ABILITY.” He was an education delegate at the 2023 One Young World Summit and is a Mandela Washington Fellowship recipient.
